Flight Simulation & Immersive Training Projects

Through my YouTube channel Raven Simulations, I have independently designed and modded several accurate airports and environments for X-Plane, while documenting the full process of learning to fly in virtual reality.

Key activities include:

Designed and implemented detailed airport scenery using real-world reference data, including precise runways, taxiways, navigation aids, buildings, and surrounding terrain.

Created and optimized 3D environments with a strong focus on realism, performance, and navigational accuracy.

Conducted extensive VR flight testing in these custom airports and environments, gaining practical insight into spatial awareness, control feedback, cockpit ergonomics, and pilot-centered design.

Integrated PilotEdge, a professional live air traffic control (ATC) service that connects simulators to real human controllers, to practice realistic radio communications, procedures, and traffic management under live conditions.

All of this work is documented on my Raven Simulations YouTube channel, which features VR flight videos, airport development timelapses, and real-world procedural training flights.

These personal projects demonstrate my ability to build complex, data-driven, and immersive 3D training environments — skills that directly transfer to aviation training simulators, military modeling & simulation, scenario development, and other immersive training systems. They reflect the same principles of spatial layout, event flow, optimization, and user experience that I apply in professional Unreal Engine level design.
